250 and Counting, Right on Time for the 4th

We hit 250 followers the same week our country turns 250, and that’s enough CousinsDozens folks to fill up a whole backyard and run out of ice twice. You know how it goes. It ain’t a real cookout until somebody hollers, “Who got the ice?” like it’s a national emergency.

Two hundred and fifty people means at least three potato salads showing up, all made by folks who swear theirs is the best. It means somebody brought a mystery dish nobody asked for. It means the grill master puffing his chest out like he’s running the show. And you already know one cousin is gonna text “on the way,” then slide in four hours later with nothing but vibes and flip‑flops.

And with the 4th of July creeping up, the timing could not be better. Southern summers hit different. The 4th ain’t really about fireworks. It’s about cousins, cookouts, and that uncle who acts like he invented grilling back in ‘84. It’s kids sprinting in and out the house while somebody yells at them to stop. It’s charcoal smoke drifting across the yard. It’s laughter you can hear from the street. It’s that red juice that stains every cup and somehow becomes part of the memory.

CousinsDozens came from all that. The jokes. The chaos. The stories. The feeling of being around people who just get you. The feeling of home, even when you’re nowhere near home.

So hitting 250 right before the 4th feels like a little wink from the universe. Like, yeah, you’re growing the way you’re supposed to. Slow enough to stay real. Fast enough to feel like something is happening. Rooted in the same culture that raised us.

Appreciate every single one of y’all. Thanks for liking, sharing, commenting, and pulling up to this digital cookout we’re building. We’re just getting started. The grill warming up. The cousins showing up. Summer wide open.

Here’s to the next 250.

Here’s to the 4th.

Here’s to the culture that keeps us connected.
